James River Nurseries was proud to be selected landscape and hardscape contractor for University of Richmond's Queally Athletic Center. Connected to the repurposed Millhiser Gym, this new complex will double as the new backetball practice facility for the Spiders as well as a student well-being center.
The buliding, named for 1986 alumni Paul and Anne-Marie Queally, who donated the lead gift (7.5 million) to launch the fundraising efforts for the new facility, will include a training room, strength and conditioning areas, full-size practice gym, coaches' offices, academic support area, team locker rooms and a Spider Heritage Hall that celebrates the tradition of UR athletics.
At James River Nurseries, we consider it both an honor and a privilege to be invited to work on so many great projects at the University of Richmond, and working on the Queally Athletic Center was another reminder of just how special the campus is. With the Gothic architecture and manicured grounds, it's no wonder UR consistently ranks among the most beautiful college campuses in America (#1 in this year's Princeton Review).
