At James River Nurseries, we know our success has been in direct relation to the business/support we've received from the Central Virginia community.  Without the support, we would not be the strong vibrant company we are today and are grateful to be in a position to give back to our community.

When we did our year-end review of the organizations we were able to help in 2020, we were particularly grateful given the hardships created by such a challenging year.

Thank you, Central Virginia, for your continued support of James River Nurseries as your go-to landscape/hardscape contractor!  We look forward to continuing our support of you as we enter into 2021 and beyond!

We know in order to meet the moment, many annual holiday traditions are being modified.  Here at JRN we needed to make our own modifications to keep everyone safe and healthy.

Sadly, we were unable to have our annual JRN family Christmas dinner and festivities, but that didn't stop us from celebrating the season!

Santa and his sleigh arrived at the break of dawn on December 18th, and thanks to the generosity of Mike, Dan & Brian Hildebrand, owners of our company, we were able to continue our tradition of the raffle drawing.  As always, there were amazing gifts given away.

In the spirit of the season, we'd like to share a short video of our modified Christmas celebration, and sincerely wish you and yours all the best for a wonderful holiday season and a joyous New Year!

James River Nurseries was proud to be selected landscape and hardscape contractor for the new Baxter Perkinson Center for the Arts!

Located in Chester Village Green next to the Chester Library, the new center is the county's first performing arts complex.  This state-of-the-art cultural arts center has been designed to provide a venue for bringing world-class artists and performances to the county.

The 22,000 square-foot facility will include a "professional children's theater, a touring educational theater, performing and visual arts classes and camps and the Baxter and Elaine Perkinson Gallery, a visual arts resource center showcasing the work of local and national artists at all experience levels."

By serving as a vital creative resource for the county, the center will draw people together for entertainment and education.  Through the arts, the center will inspire and inform in creative ways, and will, no doubt, have a positive impact on the community.

James River Nurseries applauds everyone involved in making the Baxter Perkinson Center for the Arts a reality and wish them all the best for creating an environment that will serve as an outlet for creativity and growth.

James River Nurseries is excited to announce The Sauer Center has been awarded Project of the Year by the Greater Richmond Association for Commercial Real Estate (GRACRE).  The GRACRE Awards honor outstanding commercial real estate projects and transactions in the Richmond region.

We'd like to express our profound gratitude in being selected landscape AND hardscape contractor on this award winning project, and congratulate the team responsible for creating such a dynamic development.  Members of the team include Sauer Properties, L.F. Jennings, Freeman Morgan Architects, HG Design Studio (landscape architect), and E.D. Lewis & Associates.

It was a privilege to work on a project that included the input of so many industry heavy hitters.  Thank you for allowing JRN to play a role in the creation of The Sauer Center, and congratulations on earning the title...Project of the Year!

James River Nurseries is proud to sponsor this year's M4K Richmond event!  As an engaged member of the Richmond community, we feel it's important to give back where we can, and sponsoring organizations that help others is one way to accomplish that objective.

Here's a brief description about M4K Richmond:

"M4K Richmond, Inc. is a volunteer-run organization that was founded in 2003 with the goal of raising money for local children's charities while having fun growing mustaches.  Inspired by the National Mustaches for Kids chapters in California and NYC, two Richmond-area philanthropic geniuses took a leap of faith and grew their first mustache.  After being spiritually and piously enlightened by the magic of 1) having a mustache and 2) helping children's charities; the pair began their annual campaign to relentlessly recruit Growers and brand the M4K Richmond orgainization.  In the beginning there was a small group of less than 10 Growers with limited mustache growing potential.  Membership has grown each year with over 200 Growers sporting sweet mustaches during this past growing season.  In 2010 M4K Richmond was incorporated and received recognition as an official 501(c)3 non-profit public charity by the IRS.  Through the years, M4K has enlisted the efforts of thousands of brave Growers who collectively have raised over $1,800,000 for Richmond based children's charities such as The Children's Hospital Foundation, Greater Richmond SCAN, The ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation, Feedmore, and more."

Here at JRN, we feel fortunate to be in a position to sponsor this worthy cause.  If you would like more information about how you too could play a role in helping so many Richmond based children's charities, please go to:  M4K Richmond
