On October 15, 2013, Mayor Dwight C. Jones, members of the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation, and other officials celebrated the opening of the western trailhead for the Virginia Capital Trail at Great Shiplock Park.  The bike trail will ultimately stretch approximately 53 miles to Williamsburg.  The downtown portion of the trail is scheduled to be finished next summer with the entire trail to be completed in time for Richmond to host the International Cycling Union Road World Championships in 2015.

James River Nurseries was proud to be one of several donors to offer assistance in supporting the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation and the vision to enhance one of Richmond's riverfront destinations.

Celebrating 30 Years

On September 13, 2013 we celebrated the 30th anniversary of JRN. We started with a group photo and then we were treated to a good old-fashioned picnic. The food was great and the weather was perfect!

Mike and Al then acknowledged each and every employee and thanked them for their loyal service to the company. More than half of the employees have been with the company for 9 years or more. Three have been with JRN since nearly the beginning…Dennis Stanley (30 yrs), Theresa Johnson (28 yrs) and Tim Kellogg (28 yrs).

Mike and Al were then presented with a plaque thanking them not only for years of prosperous employment but for also allowing us to work in an environment that instills family values as well as a strong sense of ethics in business.

It was an afternoon of great comradery and lots of smiles!

New Website Launched

When we decided to have a new website developed, we were looking for a company that displayed the following qualities: the knowledge to provide strong SEO (search engine optimization), the ability to create a user friendly design and the skill to craft and present a simple message that highlights who we are as a company and the services we provide. We believe we found what we were looking for.

Through the efforts of SMART Resources, a local IT consulting company, we were matched with Addison Clark, a leading online marketing agency in metro Richmond.
