At James River Nurseries, we know that some projects call for an immediate visual and environmental impact—and that's where large caliper trees come in. These mature trees, with trunk diameters of 6 inches or more, bring instant shade, structure, and a sense of place to a landscape from the moment they're installed.

We’re currently proud to be part of the Henrico County Public Schools expansion at the Academy at Virginia Randolph, where we’re sourcing and installing several 6” caliper Southern Red Oaks and American Sycamores. These stately, hardy trees are known not only for their beauty but also for their ability to thrive in our region, making them an excellent fit for a long-lasting landscape.

This installation is about more than just aesthetics—it’s about supporting a learning environment with thoughtfully designed outdoor spaces. By planting mature trees, we’re able to contribute to a greener, more welcoming campus that students and staff can enjoy from day one.

We’re grateful to be working alongside Kenbridge Construction on this meaningful project and proud to help this new chapter at Virginia Randolph take root.
