A night at the ballpark is even better when the team gets to enjoy a place it helped bring to life. James River Nurseries recently gathered at CarMax Park for baseball, ballpark food and time together.
Landscape construction crews spend much of their time focused on the next task: preparing soil, coordinating materials, installing plants and solving field conditions. Once a project is complete, the team may move quickly to another site.
Returning together offers a different perspective. It allows the people who built the landscape to see how it supports the larger visitor experience.
At a public venue, landscape work helps shape arrival, movement and gathering. Planting and site features soften the built environment and contribute to a sense of place, even when visitors are focused on the game.
As the landscape matures, it will continue adding structure and character to the Richmond Flying Squirrels' home.
The evening was also about spending time together away from the job site. Shared experiences strengthen the relationships that make coordinated field work possible.
We are proud of what the JRN team helped create at CarMax Park and grateful for the chance to cheer on the Flying Squirrels while enjoying the finished project.
Since 1983, James River Nurseries has helped residential, commercial, institutional and public clients create landscapes that are functional, enduring and rooted in the character of Central Virginia.
