A special park deserves more than one look. The Park at River City Sportsplex is not simply a collection of amenities; it is a place where families gather, children explore, athletes recharge and the community spends time together.
Designing for Connection
The strongest public spaces support both activity and pause. At River City Sportsplex, play areas, trails, fitness features and gathering spaces create reasons to visit while the surrounding landscape connects those experiences into one coherent destination.
That variety helps the park work for a quick stop, a full afternoon or time between games at the larger sports complex.
Landscape That Will Grow With the Park
Opening day is only the beginning for a landscape. Trees will expand their canopies, planting areas will fill in and the relationship between built features and living material will become more pronounced.
Thoughtful spacing and plant selection are especially important in a heavily used public setting. The landscape must welcome visitors today while being prepared for the size, shade and maintenance needs of mature plants.
Collaboration Behind the Finished Space
James River Nurseries was proud to partner with Trent Corporation, Timmons Group, Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation and an outstanding team of collaborators. Projects at this scale depend on coordinated expertise across design, construction, recreation and landscape installation.
Seeing people use the completed park is the clearest measure of success. We congratulate everyone who helped make this community asset possible.
